Substance Use Counselor 

 

Location: Baltimore, MD

Position: Substance Use Counselor - CAC-AD/ CSC-AD/ ADT, LCADC, LGADC

Reports To: Clinical Director

Hours Per Week: 20 - 40 hrs.

​

Job Description:

• Responsible for providing substance use counseling to adults, adolescents and families in individual and group settings.

• Conduct Clinical Intakes

• Conduct Substance Use Assessments

• Conduct Individual Substance Use sessions.

• Conduct Group Substance Use sessions.

• Develop Treatment Plans

• Complete service documentation for services provided.

• Complete clinical documentation as it relates to company policies.

• Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required by company policies.

• Reinforce company policies; COMAR regulatory requirements, and other regulatory agency requirements.

• Meet with the clinical director weekly to present updates, discuss staff concerns, program concerns, and regulatory concerns.

Qualifications:

• CAC-AD (Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug)

• CSC-AD (Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug)

• ADT (Alcohol and Drug Trainee)

Requirements:

• Manage assigned caseload by assisting with scheduling and follow up appointments.

• Ensure treatment plan updates are current and timely.

• Ensure annual CEU’s are up to date.

• Maintain Licensure or Certification

• Ensure appropriate referrals are made.

• Ensure annual review of client treatment status.
